ARRIVAL
IN THE US: Teachers
should arrive in the US one (1) month prior to the
required teaching date. Starting dates for the
Externship courses are throughout the year. Teachers
will have access to their school transition system
and will be trained in the process for each district.
Schools have orientations at the beginning of the
school year and again in January. Teachers hired
by schools are typically expected to be in the
school 2 weeks or more in advance for an orientation
process, either in the late summer/fall or in January.
Teachers arriving in the US before the school year
begins will go through school district workshops
before school starts. The workshops and orientation
process varies state by state according to the
particular school's system.
