Dear [member_name_first],

Planet Earth Summertime is officially here! The last day of school is rapidly approaching, as are the lazy days of summer vacation. But a total break from school activities is not always a good thing for every child. For some children, summer break can mean a loss of essential academic skills. Help your children or students stay on track with their learning progress by participating in some of the summer activities listed at readingrockets.com.

Physical activity is another important topic to think about over the summer months. Active Bodies Active Minds (ABAM) reading and fitness program is a soccer-centered community outreach initiative that provides reading and fitness resources to motivate and reward children for being mentally and physically fit. Learn more by visting mlsnet.com. Join Active Bodies Active Minds and you’ll be eligible for a chance to win a trip to MLS Cup 2010! Register Here.

Why Distance Learning Provides Great Opportunities

Boy Reading in Class

The rapidly growing phenomenon of distance learning and the technology that enables it is letting students all over the globe learn as they never could before and get a university education right at home. For people who are alert and want to get ahead in their careers, now is the time to take advantage of the many courses and online degree programs now available.

Online Courses Can be Taken Almost Anywhere

Students can take online courses just about anywhere. All that is needed is to have a high-speed Internet connection. This makes it an excellent choice when they cannot leave home to go to a college somewhere, or should not leave their current career.

Soldiers on foreign fields are able to further their education and prepare for the civilian workforce through various online programs. Career professionals can also get continuing education courses that will help them maintain certification or become certified in new areas.

Courses can be taken at any accredited online college, including courses at all degree levels. Students can work toward degrees that range from an Associates Degree all the way through doctoral degrees, depending on the college. Certifications are also available, and some schools also help students find jobs.
