Fletcher had ADHD and exhibited reading deficits. His mother was approached by the classroom teacher who remarked, “Well, it must be a deficit in Fletcher. I mean most of my students are reading. I spend a great deal of time reading with the students. Have you ever thought about getting vision training for Fletcher? I have heard good things about it.”
Fletcher’s mother scheduled an appointment with a vision specialist and spent a great deal of money on vision training. This training included a wide variety of eye movement and focusing exercises. Unfortunately, Fletcher’s reading performance did not improve.
