Vignette: Lucy
Lucy never cleaned her room. This became a “bone of contention” between Lucy and her parents. Lucy’s parents would complain about the room and Lucy would become upset at her parents. The situation was becoming worse. Lucy’s parents decided to implement a behavioral contract. They developed the following contract.

When: Every day before leaving for school
How Well: Each day Lucy will earn a check mark for cleaning her room. A clean room means that all toys are picked up, bed is made, and clothes are put in the laundry bin.
