Cultural Planning

There are four questions to ask yourself as we discuss culture and language. Keep this handout nearby and answer these questions as you work through this section.

1. What’s your motivation for learning about cultures, language, and English language learners?
2. What is it about cultural differences that intrigues you, makes you nervous, etc.?
3. How will you plan in light of cultural differences?
4. How do you need to adapt your behavior/teaching now that you know more about cultures and language?
