• 96.1% of districts have a policy prohibiting weapon possession at school
• 64.9% of districts have a policy prohibiting gang activities, including clothing
• 68.7% of districts (and 83.7% of states) have model policies for schools on violence prevention and violence prevention curricula
• 62.1% of districts (and 88% of states) provided funding for or offered staff development training on violence prevention
• Teachers who provided violence prevention education spent about 4 - 5 hours per school year teaching it.
• 91.8% of all schools teach anger management
• 91.2% teach about bully prevention
• 62% teach about dating violence
• 45.7 % about gun safety
• 87% about personal safety
• 95.5% about pro-social behaviors
• 60.5% about sexual assault.

In regard to actual skills taught:

• 97.2% of schools teach communication skills to avoid violence
• 97.5% teach decision making skills
• 91.5% teach goal setting skills to avoid violence 
• 94.6% teach techniques to avoid interpersonal conflicts and fights
